Platform Peringatan dan Pemantauan

Monitoring areas of High Carbon Stock forests, peatlands and other areas identified for conservation is a priority commitment of HCSA membership.

The HCSA Alert and Monitoring Platform receives, organises and processes spatial data from HCSA members and third-party contributors to monitor deforestation and fire events using the Global Forest Watch Pro platform.

Interactive maps below show three types of deforestation alerts:

Global Analysis and Discovery (GLAD) uses imagery from NASA’s Landsat satellites to automatically flag areas where the forest canopy has been disturbed.  Each GLAD alert indicates a 30 by 30 metre area (around the size of two basketball courts) that has experienced a disturbance in the forest canopy, which indicates that trees in that area may have been lost or removed.

Integrated Deforestation Alerts combine the analytical power of GLAD, GLAD-S2 and RADD deforestation alerts to provide a faster, more confident view of forest disturbances than any one individual system.

Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument carries two separate sets of multi-spectral channels providing full global coverage every 12 hours or less depending on the latitude. They can map fires at 375m resolution, which will make a significant difference in locating fires within the peatlands and forests of Indonesia and around the world.
