Companies using the High Carbon Stock Approach have committed to ensure that their own operations and those of their supply chains do not exploit indigenous peoples, local communities or workers.

L'approche des stocks à haute teneur en carbone comprend les éléments suivants 14 Exigences sociales which are based on international human rights norms.

HCSA Social Requirements protect the rights of those who depend on tropical forests for food, shelter, energy, medicines and livelihoods

14 Exigences sociales

Social Requirements apply to all proposed new developments and to any planned expansion of existing operations.

Les entreprises sont tenues de respecter les droits des communautés indigènes et traditionnelles par le biais d'un processus d'actions prescrites, y compris pour donner ou refuser leur consentement au développement.

The objective is to produce an Integrated Conservation Land Use Plan (ICLUP) that makes clear who has what rights and responsibilities in each area of land and sets out plans to optimise conservation, livelihoods and commercial production while respecting the rights of affected communities.
